The European Business Council for Africa and the Mediterranean (EBCAM) was founded in 1973 by seven European private sector associations, representing investors and operators in Africa. The EBCAM brings together European investors and other operators engaged in economic activity in the African continent, and it works for a close cooperation between the European private sector and African countries, in particular the private sector. It is the only organisation that comprehensively represents the range of business activities undertaken in Africa by European companies. EBCAM embraces all European Associations of private sector involved in, development , business,trade and investment on within African countries. It does follows regularly the development scene in Brussels and thanks to special agreements in Washington and the whole of Africa. EBCAM has a rotating Presidency, which is being chaired from July 1st 2009 by HACCD-Hellenic African Chamber of Commerce and Development of Greece, with DI from Denmark and AHEAD Global of Hungary as Vice-Presidents.
